What is DropReference?

DropReference is a gaming hardware price comparison and PC building platform, operated by DropReference SAS, a company registered in France. It aggregates prices and stock from around thirty retailers (Amazon, LDLC, TopAchat, PC Componentes, Cybertek, Rue du Commerce and others) across France, Europe, the UK and the US, then turns that data into buying decisions: PC configurators, graphics card comparisons measured on 148 games, laptop rankings and a GPU market dashboard.

What DropReference does

Where our data comes from

Prices and stock are collected automatically from the retailers we track and recalculated several times a day. Each component is tied to a single reference, which is what makes it possible to compare identical offers across shops and across countries.

Gaming performance is not estimated from spec sheets: it comes from our own FPS measurements across 148 games, run on a Ryzen 9 9950X3D reference CPU so the graphics card stays the limiting factor. Every card is tested under the same conditions.

How DropReference makes money

The site is free. When you click an offer and buy from a retailer, DropReference may earn an affiliate commission. That commission does not change the price you pay and does not influence the rankings: components are sorted on price, measured performance and real popularity, never on payout.

Frequently asked questions

Does DropReference sell hardware?

No. DropReference is a comparison service: it lists retailer offers and sends you to their site to complete the purchase. The order, payment, delivery and after-sales support are handled by the retailer.

Is DropReference free?

Yes, every feature of the site and the app is free with no subscription. The service is funded by affiliate commissions paid by retailers.

Which countries does DropReference cover?

Prices are tracked in France and the eurozone, the UK and the US. The site adapts to your region automatically to show the right currency and the retailers that ship to you.

How often are prices updated?
