Best RAM 2026: the best DDR5 kits (32GB DDR5-6000) and current US prices

For a gaming PC in 2026, the best RAM is a 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 kit, ideally CL30 to CL36. It is the sweet spot for AMD Ryzen 7000/9000 (AM5) and runs perfectly on Intel Core Ultra 200S (LGA1851). 16GB is now the bare minimum, 64GB is for content creation and heavy multitasking.

DDR5 is the only memory supported by current desktop platforms (AMD AM5 and Intel LGA1851). Compared with DDR4 it brings:

• Higher speeds: 5600 to 6400 MT/s kits are now mainstream, high-end kits go well beyond.
• More bandwidth per module, thanks to two independent 32-bit sub-channels.
• Lower voltage (1.1V at JEDEC speeds) and on-module power management.
• Higher capacity per stick: 32GB and 48GB modules are common.

For esports and lighter games, yes. For recent AAA games, streaming or keeping a browser open while gaming, 32GB is the safer choice.

On AMD Ryzen 7000/9000, DDR5-6000 is the usual sweet spot. DDR5-6400 mainly makes sense on Intel Core Ultra 200S or for enthusiasts who tune their memory.
